Rainbow reprise; prompt four.

This week is, of course, Green.

Rainbow prompt Three.

This week the word is yellow.

Rainbow Reprise - week 2

Sorry I'm late - but I'm sure you would have already worked out that week 2 is Orange.

New Challenge...ish! Week One

I have been reminiscing and looking back at the first drabbles I wrote here. They were for a Rainbow Challenge, many years ago. And it struck me that it would be interesting to revisit that challenge as it was so broad, and see what people would write now.

So, perhaps somewhat controversially, I suggest we have the colours of the rainbow as our challenges for the next six weeks,

Which means the subject for this week is RED.

A/N: By way of explanation for the setting...this follows on from my short story, 'Pippin II', in which Elrond gifts Frodo with a puppy, shortly after Bilbo's death in the West.

EXPECTATIONS AND EXCAVATIONS

“Hello Faerwen.” Frodo smiled up at the lady and set aside his pipe. “Come and sit down. How are you and the babe?”

With obvious relief, Faerwen lowered her bulk onto the bench he hurriedly vacated. “The babe is well and I am bored.”

Frodo chuckled. “Erestor is still overprotective?”

The lady rolled her eyes. “Smothering. I escaped my jailer to return this.” She drew a squirming brown bundle from her robes and the little dog yipped as Frodo accepted her. “I apprehended her digging in Elrond's herb garden.”

“Not again, Pip!” Pip only licked his face exuberantly.
