Servants to The Smith

Title: Servants to The Smith
Word Count: 100
Disclaimer: Tolkien made these guys. He could have made them cute and fluffy, but instead he made them turn to the dark side (of the forge). Wow, sorry. That was awful. No, really, I'm sorry.
Author's Note: For the 'Smiths' part of the challenge. Next come pirates.

They stood close, basking in the heat as their Master worked; marvelling at the sparks, bright as stars.

The hammer fell with speed and power they could never hope to match, though they watched and learned much.

He moulded the metal like flesh, shaping wonders. A shard was thrown from the whole, white hot and keen as Eru’s sight. It pierced a rock which waited to be carved, cleaving the furnace-warmed stone.

Picking up the fractured blade, feeling its edge, Aulendil turned to Curumo and understood the power of these makings. They both now understood the might of such crafts.
