Challenge; Ball of the Foot

As the moon waxed Grimbeorn spent increasing time as a cub. Any unexpected surprise, however small, could trigger the change.
Thankfully as the moon approached its fullest point, especially with approaching dusk, once changed he stayed in his second skin for longer periods and the painful transformations became further apart.
Small cubs, however, were harder to restrain than small boys but equally prone to accidents.
Now a thorn in the ball of his foot made him whimper and fret. She needed Beorn to hold him. But her husband would not be home tonight; the full moon was his mistress still.
