Capra Maritimus

For the Queens challenge....

Title: Laerbereth i Pheriannath
Author: capra_maritimus
Characters/Pairing: Merry/Pippin
Rating: PG
Warnings: none (unless you count implied slash)
Book/Source: I would assume LOTR bookverse, since neither Queen Beruthiel nor Lithe were ever mentioned in the movie.
Disclaimer: These characters and the world of Middle Earth belong to the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien. No money made, this is just for fun.

The bodice cut off his breathing and the straw wig itched. Merry readjusted his paper-and-flower crown before scowling down at Pippin.

"Lithe Fair Plays aren't really an old Gondorian Tradition, are they?" he protested, voice suspicious. "Lads dressed as lasses. Hmpf! It's not dignified."

"Mrrreooow," Pippin argued, rubbing his fur-covered head against Merry's skirted leg. Matching furred hands batted at the flow of fabric, then traveled upward with wicked intent, kneading. "Besides, Merry, you feel good in a dress."

Merry groaned. He tore himself away and flung himself before the waiting audience, profoundly grateful that Queen Beruthiel wore full skirts.
