The sky was washed with misty indigo clouds, like the delicate watercolours of the temple’s wall-hangings. Estel shrugged the silk robe up as he reached for his wine-cup; soon the night-sky would be peppered with those strange, Southern stars, soon he would again be reminded how far he was from home…
Tonight was the Moon-feast, celebrating harvest and the turning year, he shivered, the nights had turned cooler.
Estel raised his third cup to the full moon, glowing like a porcelain bowl in the dark, and through the mist of memories, found himself drinking to one who was far away.
