His skin had once been smooth and fair, but now it was worn and scarred by wounds received. Here a blow from an orc who had died in blood; there the slash of a Dunlending’s quick blade.
Some scars were flat and gleaming, white as milk; others raised and angry, the skin torn and grown anew in unnatural forms. All told a story. All were the marks of a history of violence.
