The wind fought its way up the valley unchecked, battering itself against the sturdy walls of Medusled; flowing like a tide, from mountain to plain, at dawn and dusk. The small boy wrapped in his furred cloak shivered as he peered from the solar casement. The household were not up, but he wanted to see the dunadan depart.
Sure enough, the big grey and the bay rode out side by side. He clambered onto the golden ridge-tiles.
“Bring me a gift from Harad!” he shouted.
The dark-haired man stared up and waved.
“Look for me when I return, young Theoden”.
