Fingon had loved his cousin dearly.

Maedhros was once tall and proud, honourable and caring, with hair like fire and a will to match. It was hard not to love him in their youth, when his fëa was unscathed and his shoulders did not bear the weight of his father’s legacy. Under the light of the Two Trees their affection was untainted.

Then came the Oath of Fëanor, and they were sundered.

Yet hope returned at Thangorodrim, as Maedhros pressed against Fingon, sobbing in agonized joy, bleeding and damaged; the oath would end eventually, and then they could love again.

Extra note: I just thought that I'd say hello to everyone since I'm new to the com :) I love reading all the drabbles posted here, and I'm excited to join you all!
