Lost for words

Should it be a formal declaration, such as the king might make?

Or thoughtful and measured as Mister Frodo would do quite naturally?

What about grand and portentous like Gandalf?

Best not to think about how Treebeard might say such a thing.

Sighing deeply, he resigned himself to doing this badly. Everything he tried came out so awkwardly, sounded so wrong, not like himself at all.

Then there she was right in front of him - wreathed in smiles, ribbons and flowers in her hair - and it all poured out quite naturally.

I loves you, Rosie Cotton! Will you marry me?
