Butterbur served them the ale - Rangers, but their accents were funny, from Gondor one said, taking messages north. ‘Be plenty more passing this way,’ he said, ‘now the king’s returned.’

Butterbur slowly turned this over in his mind, much the way he turned the shining silver penny in his hand. The ranger said he’d been told to pay with this particular penny - a proof coin stamped from a specially polished die. The face on it seemed oddly familiar... he just...
Give him time... he’d remember.

Anyway... best keep this for luck - be the nearest he’d ever get to the King!
