Disclaimer: Tolkien created the boys, I'm just babysitting.
Author's Note: For the 'north' challenge. The nickname happened by accident and I'm sure it'll come back to bite me in the bum. Little siblings often can't pronounce tricky names, though (my first word was 'Andoo', for my brother Andrew), so I think this nickname was a possibility.
"Do they still have dragons in the north, Brom?"
"I don't know." The elder boy shifted his little tin army about the map spread across the floor. "I heard about one, but that was before even papa was born. Why?"
"I don't know. I'd like to see one some day."
"You'll get your share of winged beasts when you're grown. For now, finish your writing."
The younger boy scribbled something with ink-smeared fingers and tore the page from his heavy-bound notebook. Smiling, he placed the drawing on the top edge of the map. There were dragons in the north again.
