Between them there were no secrets, Théodred knew which places made him sigh; the dimple inside the hip-bone, the curve of throat to shoulder below his ear... that inch of prominent tendon beneath... He knew Boromir’s secrets, his hopes and fears. In return, Boromir knew what would undo the Horselord, the seasoned warrior who could stand pain, but not having his toes stroked, who mewed with delight to feel his back caressed, and sighed when strong fingers kneaded his shoulders... Little intimacies binding them so tightly; there was no space between for secrets – except, unspoken dread of the other’s death.
