Character: King Elessar, Eldarion
Source: Fourth Age
Disclaimer: Tolkien’s world, yes all of it… mostly
Minas Tirith’s Citadel held many stairways, some broad, others cramped, servant’s stairs, tucked away, and hidden stairs to secret chambers for meetings unseen. One such room King Elessar adopted for his own, a very private space furnished carefully to his taste, simple, elegantly rich – dark woods and silvery steel.
After his death, his son unlocked the elvish chest there; inside… the black banner his mother embroidered, his father’s collection of stones, a grey cloak, travel-stained Ranger’s gear… What puzzled Eldarion was the trophy of three silver arrows inlaid into the chest’s curving lid, polished to silken smoothness by loving fingertips.
