Boooom! An enormous clap of thunder rolled above the mountains, its percussive force almost physical. Vivid imaginations might fancy they saw Echthelion’s Tower shiver in the turbulent air... and little Faramir was well-known for his fancies. His elder brother frowned as the younger boy stared, wide-eyed, pale-faced, from the nursery window. Boromir smiled reassuringly: “Andell says it’s only the mountain-trolls rolling barrels down to their cellars.”
Faramir turned. “Really? ‘Dar said it was the aftershock of air displacement following the lightning’s flash...”
Boromir’s jaw dropped a little.
“...but I like the idea of trolls rolling barrels better.” Faramir said thoughtfully.
