That was the dilemma – what would be first...? Tinder-box? Dry shirt? Bandage and salve? Or fresh bow-string, whetstone, mending thread?
He’d laid out his well-worn chattels numerous times – carefully deciding what to take, what to leave... now, strings were in his quiver, whetstone and tinder-box at his belt... everything in place.
