Or Lorien’s golden wildness where he couldn’t decide if he walked tidy woodland or a careless garden; and then Minis Tirith’s manicured lawns, now surrounding a newly planted White Tree, and what with pots of scarlet flowers aside every front door – those old stones had fair glowed with life...
No, it was the bounty of the Shire he'd hungered for... one reason that home-coming had been such a shock. But now... nasturtiums, sops-in-wine, roses, thyme... a feast for eyes and nose... Sam sighed, comfortably satisfied.
