Eat Drink and Be Merry challenge - Performance: 'A Reading of Poetry': Kortirion

Title: A Reading of Poetry
Author: Kortirion
Character: The Fellowship
Rating: G
Source: TT – an excursion in Lorien
Disclaimer: Tolkien’s world, Kortirion’s words

The two younger hobbits sprawled on Lorien’s green turf. Pippin struggled up to gaze about in anguish.

“Does it hurt?” murmured Sam.

Pip shook his head, then leaned across Merry’s still form, seemingly weeping.

Suddenly, Merry sat bolt upright, quickly overturned Pip, then mounted him from behind ...having pulled his ears into painful points!

“Oh... it’s The Lay of Luthien!” crowed Frodo.

Aragorn disguised a smirk behind a haze of pipeweed smoke. Gimli slapped his thighs with laughter at Legolas’ pursed lips and frown...

Boromir spluttered into his wine-cup ‘...maybe this Charades game would be more amusing than he’d thought!’
