The elven warrior both gave and took the pleasure offered; not thinking that his seed would take root.

The widow found joy in the child, until it was too obvious that she did not grow, could no longer be explained as the last flowering of marital love before the battle.

The warden, at first stern faced at the woman’s temerity, looked at the child and saw an unexpected likeness - his now-lost brother’s eyes.

The mother left the forest fringe sorrowful, but sure the child would be loved, and ever took comfort from the flowers whose name the child bore.
