Characters: Finrod, Turgon, Belegaer?
Disclaimer: All characters and places belong to the genius of JRR Tolkien. My words are only for entertainment (mine at least), and I do not in any way financially profit by them.
Author's note: Beginning quote taken from Silmarillion, chapter 15: “Of the Noldor in Beleriand”, page 150.
“Love not too well the work of thy hands, and the devices of thy heart.”
Ulmo’s words echo as Belegaer breaks on Nevrast’s point. But to the elves upon that coast the call of east, of future, is stronger than that of west, of past.
One dreams of a shining Elven-home, embraced by mountains, near the aeries of Sulimo’s beloved eagles.
The other dreams of a glittering city of Aulë’s living stone; full of the light of tree and star, and music of Elf and river.
Long after both pass beyond legend, Belegaer still whispers Ulmo’s words along the Hither-shore.
