Outside the un-shuttered window the harvest moon hangs; full, soft, heavy, luminous in the sky. Ithil – loved by Ithilien’s Elves, but loved almost as much by Ithilien’s Prince, especially at this time of year.
The gentle light falls on Éowyn, where she lies asleep beside him, tired out by celebrating a harvest gathered, barns and store-rooms full, all ready for the winter days.
No wonder she sleeps so deeply, Faramir thinks. Oh, how he loves her - especially now. Full, soft, heavy, luminous, her body has developed new, voluptuous, curves; their own spring sowing gently ripening to bring midwinter joy.
