Characters: Aragorn and Halbarad

Disclaimer: Tolkien made these characters and their world – the song is traditional.
The chorus was simple, the rhythm infectious, they clapped along with the roistering singers at the harbour’s inn. Rangers don’t normally make themselves noticed, but this spoke to their hearts. Halbarad stamped noisily, roaring along with enough gusto to bring a grin to Aragorn’s face... something not readily seen of late...
“And it’s home, boys, home,
Home I’d like to be, home for awhile in the North Country,
Where the oak and the ash and the bonny rowan tree,
Are all a-growing greener in the North Country...”
"Oaks o’ the North!" Halbarad raised his tankard.
"The North..." replied Aragorn softly.
