Darkness on all sides...him the figure crouching, huddled up around his point of balance. To stay sane he has willed himself to stop counting the days...in his current predicament about as meaningful as counting the head-lashing raindrops.
The moth settles on him one moonlit evening and he holds it tenderly in the hollow of is hands.
He breathes his message gently across its wings...and lets it go.
“One breath”, he thinks, “brief like a flicker of moonlight on a moth's wing”.
But sometimes effects ripple and gather across time, and one breath becomes a tempest...pushing its forehead against the dark.
