With a sudden rush of blood to the head, my second drabble today!...
Leaving his companions deep asleep, Aragorn slips quietly from the flet and wanders. Voices drift on the night breeze; ethereal, harmonies ungraspable as starlight, the song's beauty stealing the hearer's very soul.
Above in the canopy silvery moonlight catches pale hair, and Legolas motions him up. For long moments they need no words, washed by the singing's ebb and flow.
"You sing not?" Aragorn murmurs.
"I know not this lay. And you? Now that I discover the Golden Wood is not strange to you?..."
"Lothlorien." Aragorn sighs, smiling into the darkness. "Where once I lost my heart... and gained the world."
