Characters: Legolas and Haldir
Disclaimer: Tolkien heard these tales – even if he didn’t include this one!
Legolas marvelled at the great space wherein Celeborn and Galadriel held court. Enclosed by carved screens that cunningly incorporated living branches... some solid panels also divided the hall, on one hung a curious arrow, white shaft and gleaming golden flights.
Legolas whispered to Haldir: “What means the arrow?”
“Lord Celeborn’s – the tale goes he was gifted with a quiver when newly come-of-age, the feathers are from a unique bird – this last will mark his passing in Arda, his hröa will rest where it strikes.
“Not go West?”
“It’s foretold he must lie there... where the flight of the phoenix falls.”
