His youngest granddaughter rose when most others went to bed, and came to his rooms at night. But ,as he needed little sleep during the latter years of his long life, it pleased him, and the arrangement meant her parents could rest.
He called her the Moth, affectionately; for her patient, quiet ways, subtle beauty...and alertness at star-rise.
Aragorn thought perhaps she had inherited a mindset from when the world was permanently clad in twilit, dusky-blue monochrome, and time was measured in stellar movements.
And she eased the loneliness he sometimes felt, but never told...during the hours before the morning.
