Elrond looked up at the three eternally smiling skulls on the shelf. They still had remarkably white teeth. As skulls went they really didn't look half bad, he decided.
Always best to look on the bright side.
He grinned back...knowing his own teeth weren’t of the same standard.
Years ago she had taken it...that trinket, hadn’t she, The Lady of the Wood.
His children had fought her...and fallen. In time...in his grief, he had retrieved their bones.
