This prompt shouted 'dwarves' at me - so I decided to do another one about Eldarion and Firiel just to be awkward!

This scene follows straight on from What is Red...A Rose is Red.

Changing the Subject

After a morning spent considering dragons, about which Firiel admitted she knew very little, Eldarion agreed that further discussion might best be left until his twin uncles visited. Apparently they had personal knowledge of the species.

Instead Firiel produced a map showing all the lands his father, King Elessar, ruled and Eldarion was reading out place names.

“Uncle Gimli lives there,” Eldarion pointed, “in caves full of gold and silver and glittering gems.”

Firiel realised, just too late, what was coming…

“Dragons would like Uncle Gimli’s caves!”
