The light surprised him. He’d forgotten how dazzling winter sun could be… especially as this bedroom faced Mordor. Faramir went to the window. Just after sun-rise and brightness flooded through – he lifted his face, closed his eyes.
Their first harvest had been poor, the farmlands were devastated, but supplies from Lebennin and Belfalas had been carted in. Mettare had just passed – very cold, and more snow than Minas Tirith had seen for years… but good fires, fellowship, and a world made free had seen them through.
He looked to an East no longer clouded…
