The stars glow bright this night. Speckled across the sky like gossamer threads of silver-blue, their pale faces blink down on Arda. They dance high above river, vale, and mount, and their bright streamers trail behind.
Songs we sing to them; great hymns and odes rise to accompany their ceaseless grace. The mouths of Eldar are ever-bent to the still silence of the deepest night; that is when the stars hold court.
The fearful things of this world fade under the stars.
Of all the wondrous creations, Elbereth Gilthoniel did right when she knit the great cloth of the heavens.
