A Dream of Hope

 Sleep came late that night.

Elrohir's dreams were restless until he saw a great white city bearing the scars of war. A king stood before the broken gates, wearing a winged crown, his manner and stance like Arathorn’s - yet Arathorn was dead.

He craned to see more but his dream shattered as Elladan shook him awake. “Tis your watch, brother. Gilraen and the boy are asleep.”

Elrohir sat silently as details of his dream drifted away like dawn mist; yet in the midst of his grief there was now a glimmer of hope.

One day, the king would return.
