Disclaimer: All of Middle Earth is from the hand of Tolkien.  I own nothing.  I make no profit from the drabble.

This was absolutely inspired by Jay of Lasgalen's wonderful "Homecoming" series in my gondor-centric mind.  Thank you for the inspiration, Jay!  Also, last week's prompt never forgave me for having too much work to write it, and demanded its own part as well.  Two themes in one...?  Sort of...?

Dismounting to white cobblestones sent strength rushing through Boromir‘s limbs. He was home.
Someone hurried forward and Boromir grinned. “Faramir!”
Faramir smiled as Boromir reached out as if to crush him close and bury him there, tangle himself around his little brother, sharing heartbeats to forget months apart.
But they never touched.
“My son, you have returned!”
Brothers froze as one entity.
A shared, strained breath. Boromir swallowed. His brother’s face became an emotionless mask.
Denethor beamed, arms wide to welcome his son.
Faramir lowered his eyes.
“Father.” Pulling his most convincing smile, Boromir turned to his father’s waiting embrace.
