The brilliancy of Henneth Annûn’s curtain faded, darkening the entryway, but deeper rooms glowed with warmth and light.
Boromir could never associate these chambers with war-torn Ithilien. Leaving below the tense, predatory shadows, he was wrapped in the embrace of the caves, the promise of safety, rest, food.
A calm night beside his brother.
Faramir smiled. “You have to be careful arriving after dark. You know how easy it is to mistake you for an orc.”
Grinning, he deftly avoided a swipe at his head.
Rangers smiled as a long unheard sound filled the candle-lit caves. The Captains were laughing.
