More Precious than Gold
Aragorn and Eldarion were lying head to head on the floor, a pile of old coins from a nearby strongbox spread between them. Sifting through them, Eldarion picked one up.
“What nation is this from, Ada?”
“Hmmm. This is Gondorian, minted by Eänur, the thirty-third King. See here, it bears the date 2043, the year of his coronation. After Eänur’s disappearance the Stewards took over ruling Gondor.”
“Which coin is most valuable?”
“A coin’s value changes according to what it will buy. But the most important things cannot be bought, things like happiness and family. Those things are truly priceless.”
