Denethor glowered, he saw the anger behind the eyes of the man facing him – now was not the moment to force the issue...
He nodded once curtly. Naming the new captain-general was a bone of contention – Denethor considered it his right, if he wasn’t to lead the army himself… then he should choose who would.
His father thought differently.
“Very well,” said Denethor, “I’ll command the sell-sword to your presence!”
Turning his back on Ecthelion, he strode out.
