Summary: Balin wants, among other things, for his company in Khazad-dûm to have better helms. Answering the prompt “Note.”
Should your party locate armory, please be on lookout for helms with better visors. Would prefer to avoid another incident like Flói’s. Orcs maybe noted weakness in our armor. Archers–too craven to get near enough to look you in the eye–shoot you in the eye instead. I digress.
Do hurry up and find helms lest Balin meet poor F’s fate. B fixated on notion of going to look in Mirrormere despite danger–and Orcs not yet a fortnight dispersed. Distracted him yesterday–’Let’s search twenty-first hall, and mayhap find secreted away some artefact.’
______Endnote: Author’s assumption is that Ori’s suggestion led to Balin finding “Durin’s Axe,” mentioned in the much-damaged Book of Mazarbul in FotR.
