Character: Bofur and Bilbo

Ale, wine, porter… more ale… Dwarves were certainly prodigious drinkers!
Bilbo, scurrying from cellar to pantry to larder and back, paused for a nip of brandy… for medicinal purposes! A dwarf sporting twisted moustaches and wiry plaits… Bifor…? Bofur…? …threw an affectionate arm around his shoulders.
“Have I tol’ you ‘bout my dog,” he slurred, “Very clever dog… true art…artif...ificer in metals…” Bofur grinned triumphantly at the others, who watched with expectant interest.
“Really?” Said Bilbo politely, “…metal-working dog – how clever.”
“S’Right – every morning - he makes a bolt for the door!!”
Bofur’s hearty back-slap knocked Bilbo’s breath clean away…
