A very Happy Birthday to altariel!
Often throughout 1420 friendly winds blew clouds over the Barrow-downs and a gentle rain fell on Bree. Crops flourished uncannily and folk, looking to the Shire, said there must be magic in it.
The Burdocks were already worn to the bone when they moved into the unwanted house; fear of ruffians had finally forced them from their home. Yet ‘an apple a day keeps the healer away’ and outside their peeling door a sturdy sapling sprang into life, producing fruit within a single year!
And blossom, wafting in through their open windows, helped to scour the taint and ugliness away.
