This is a challenge community for writers who enjoy Tolkien and who like to write about his creations. Drabbles on all of Tolkien's writings are welcome here, so long as they fit the week's challenge. Feedback and constructive criticism are actively encouraged.
WORDS WE LIVE BY:
A drabble is 100 words exactly. Not 99, and not 101.
All types of fic are welcome, so long as they are about JRRT's works. Therefore, no RPF (real person fiction) is allowed. Sorry.
Please use this format for posting:
Title: Author: Characters/Pairing: Rating: Warnings: (writers should warn readers for major squicks like character death, blood, incest and the like) Book/Source: (Hobbit, Silm, LotR, HoME, UT, other). If your work is movie-verse, please say so here. Disclaimer: (very important. Forget this once, we'll send a warning. Forget it twice, we'll send a very angry Gimli to chop you into tiny pieces.)
If you are linking to a drabble in your LJ, put the link after your heading. If you are posting your drabble in the comm, please place the drabble beneath an lj-cut tag. Read the faq on LJ cut tags here.
OTHER DETAILS WORTH KNOWING
Community Memories will point you to previously posted drabbles, sorted by challenge topic, author, and character(s). We try to keep up, but you guys are prolific, so be gentle if we fall behind. If we should make a mistake in sorting your drabble, please send a note to the mods so it can be corrected.
All types of drabbles are welcome. This includes gen, het, and slash. Flame somebody for the fic they post here, and you will not like the consequences, guaranteed. We will laugh, we will point, and then we will ban. Got it? Good.
Drabbles that do not fit a current weekly challenge in this comm should be directed to tolkien100.
Inspiration: The first comm to host drabble challenges for LotR was lotr100, and we miss it. tolkien_weekly is a companion community to the friendly comm tolkien100.
